Found a great blog post extolling the virtues of Linux, describing quite succinctly why it is better than Windows. And since I could probably do no better myself I’m just going to link to it. Nice one Dan Martin.

Vote Early. Vote Often.

My postal ballot papers arrived today, so decision time has come and gone – I can now sit back and watch the rest of the show as it rumbles on into May. I do however confidently predict queues, delays and confusion at polling stations – I’m quite a bright lad and it took me quite a while to be sure I was voting the correct way on each paper. Two envelopes, two ballot papers, one of which is for two different votes, and the Single Transferable Vote system for the council elections meant I had to rank people from one to nine on the other. Like I say, vote early, vote often.

Bad Vista. No Biscuit.

Bad Vista. No Biscuit.

I randomly discovered the BadVista.org web site last night. A site dedicated to shining a big bright light on all of Vista’s failings and chuckling quietly as companies like Dell and even US Government agencies abandon it.

They have their own logo already, of course, but the phrase “Bad Vista. No Biscuit.” immediately sprang into my mind, probably Cleodhna’s fault – she was once planning to put her dog in a t-shirt that said “Bad Prime Minister. No Biscuit.” and take it to an anti-war march.

The result is some re-gimping of their logo to what you see on the left. I also did an American “Bad Vista. No Cookie.” version.

Both of these are released under the Free Art License.

Discovered that Brian Taylor, the BBC Scotland Political editor, has a blog on the subject of the Scottish Elections which is quite fun and worth a read for those interested. Added it to my Other Blogs RSS page.

Oh, and if you’re in the Coatbridge & Chryston area then you should vote for Julie McAnulty.
